My grandparents have been happily married now for 69 years. That alone speaks volumes. It’s not too often that you hear stories like these nowadays.

It was an honor to spend some quality time with them during my short stay in the Dominican Republic last week. In their long life they had 11 children,

38 grandchildren (I am one of them (lol) and 40 great-grandchildren!

The reason why I decided to share their story with you is that success leaves clues. If they were able to maintain a relationship that long then they must

be doing something right.  There is one thing that really stands out. My grandmother.

It’s her commitment and passion to love others as they are and as they aren’t.

My grandmother is the epitome of love. I never met someone who loves so unconditionally as her. A perfect example of this is happened when I was in the Gulf War.

My grandma lived in the Dominican Republic at the time. Every month, she would sit down and personally handwrite a heartfelt letter to encourage and remind me how proud she was of me for taking a stand for my country. She also reminded me in each letter how much she loved me. Now, you should know that she never mailed the letter from the Dominican Republic because when she did once, it never arrived. Instead of giving up she decided to ask all her relatives and children if they knew of someone who was traveling to the U.S. Each month she found someone who would be traveling.

Talk about persistence. Then she would ask them if they could do her the favor of buying a stamp upon arriving stateside and mail it for her. She even went as far as asking them to promise her that they would not lose the letter and mail it on the 1st day of their arrival. She told them it was extremely important. It would usually take about 3 weeks before I received them in Saudi Arabia.

That’s off course after they tracked me down and found where I was stationed at the time. Every time I received her letters, tears would come to my eyes. Reading them filled me with the hope I had lost. Each word impacted me profoundly. They usually came on the days with I most needed it.

The interesting part was that there were many friends and family that lived in the U.S. that never took the time to write me because they were supposedly too busy. However, my grandma, on the other hand, always found a way to send me her love.

a- What excuses do you make for not sharing your love with that special person you know you should?

b- What small kind act can you do during the holidays that will positively impact the life of someone you love?

Did you know that there are 4 LEVELS OF LOVE!

1- Demand Love. These are the people who demand love. They don’t want to share it, they just demand it. These people usually turn to drugs, alcohol, physical abuse to meet they unmet needs.

2- Horse-trading. These are the whores. They give love for something in return.

3- Love is just who you are. You love unconditionally. You give love and expect nothing in return. You are a BIG LOVE BUG! …lol

4-  You love those who try to hurt you. This is the highest level of love. It can be difficult but it is also the most satisfying. At this level you love all those people who have tried to hurt you or have hurt you immensely in the past. It also sends a message that hey I don’t care how much you hurt me; I’ll still send you love no matter what. That’s just who I am. These are the people who impact their communities, families, neighborhoods and organizations in a huge way. This level of love is one few people ever experience. I double dare to take on this way of being if you have not done so yet.

Well what can I say? It’s been a CRAZY last

few weeks. Crazy in the most beautiful way!

I will tell you this….unstoppability exist inside

all of us. It is inside every human being on the

planet; accessible to everyone. We are all accessing

that same power that cannot be stopped when it is

really focused, fine tuned and centralized on a mission,

vision or dream it wants to create. I am inviting you to

transform yourself into the unstoppable being already

inside you.

In today’s email….I’ll share a few resources so you, too,

can access that part of you.

But first, what I been up to in the last few weeks…and

what’s coming up in the next few days.

OK. So, now I’m going to spill the beans and tell one on

myself. I’m not going to sit here and tell you my life

has been rosy in the last few weeks. As a matter of

fact, it was very challenging and confronting.

It seemed that no matter what I did or tried, nothing

seemed to click. I know this is not a typical conversation

you hear from business coaches, life coaches, motivational

speakers and online marketers (since I consider myself to a

be mutt of all of the above mentioned).

But if it’s one thing you need to know about me it’s this:

When I decided to launch this business, I promised myself

I would always be authentic and transparent.

That has always been important to me. It’s just who I am!

Anyways back to the story.

- I had to deal with an upset client. In the end it was handled,

the breakdown was a miscommunication ( all is good now..I

made sure of that lol..)

- A sibling blew a tangent and had to deal with that tricky

situation. Things that happen in every family I’m sure. All is

good now.

- I had several proposals out for consulting and speaking

engagements and nobody was getting back to me.

- My wife slipped and fell in the shower and fell smack on her

left rib cage and was badly bruised. As a result she was out

of comission for at least a full week. (In case you were

wondering, she is doing much better now).

- My father had a stroke. He was in the hospital for 7 days.

He’s home now but is having a challenge talking an moving

certain body parts including his fingers. Oh, did I mention he

lives in the Dominican Republic. I have been unable to see him

as of yet?

- I did not meet my deadline again to launch my business product

I have been creating for the past 5 months. This really pissed me

off.

- I had a huge breakdown with Icontactdotcom They are my email

management system. I use their services to send you all my weekly

emails. They said I had a few spam requests. I was temporarily

suspended. Go figure!

These are the biggies that come to mind. There’s all these other

smaller ones, but I’ll spare you the boredom because of lack of

time.

By now you’re probably asking “Edward what does this have to do

with me”? This has everything to do with you. You see this is what

life looks like on a normal scale. Yes, we all have the best of

intentions.

We want to sprint forward 10 steps but life keeps pulling you back

2 steps every time you want to take 1 forward. So what do you do

when this happens? I am asked this question time and time again.

Commit to being Unstoppable Inspite of……

You must commit to take actions:

- Even when you are tired

- Even when the people in your life are upset at you for whatever

reason

- Even when you are hurt

- Even when you don’t feel like it

- Even when it seems difficult or almost impossible

- Even when the people around you are not supporting you

(this is not currently my case but it was for a long time in

the past)

- Even when you have a headache

- Even when you only had a few hours of sleep (as I write you

this letter you should know that I pulled an all nighter last

night to meet a deadline I had set for myself. I am writing

you this letter on the plane. I am on my way to L.A. again

to meet with my coach for 2 days. So trust me I know what

UNSTOPPABILITY means.

- Even when creditors are calling and harassing you

- Even when___________ (fill in the blank)

Unstoppability Simply Means That You Will

Not Be Stopped!

You will not be stopped by your:

- Reasons

- Excuses

- Circumstances

- Stories of why it can’t be done

- Personal opinions Other people’s opinions

- Your environment Negativity Money excuses Blah, blah, blah…

To Be Unstoppable You Will Have To Move

Past Your Stops. Got It?

So, let me share a few results that occurred as a result of

CHOOSING TO BE UNSTOPPABLE!

- I was invited to speak at the Mens Conference at Suffolk

County Community College on Nov. 18. I will fly from LA that

morning, have a quick breakfast with my wife, check emails

then I’m off to rock the crowd in Long Island.

- This upcoming Sunday, I was hired to do my signature talk

(hired for a half day) “The 21 Day Unstoppable Challenge:

The Secret to Becoming Unstoppable” in Pennsylvania.

- On Monday, I will fly to the Dominican Republic and surprise

my father for his 69th birthday!

- On Wednesday, I will lead the “Go From Stuck To Unstoppable”

6 hour workshop in the Dominican Republic (in spanish of course)

for a sales organization.

- Currently, my business product is 90% complete. It should

ready to launch by mid-December.

- My Spanish Motivational website is 70% complete and on time.

The website will launch by Christmas.

- Three new clients hired me for coaching and there are still

4 more “maybe’s” out there.

- I recorded and packaged my first ever Spanish motivational CD’s.

- I was hired by a Christian Magazine as a full time consultant to

help take their brand and message to the next level.The cool

part is I will keep a percentage of the upside. Not a bad deal.

- Two online marketers approached me. They asked me if they

could promote my website to their database because they love

what I am doing and what I stand for.

- AND LASTLY, I approached an old friend and colleague and

enrolled her into partnering with me with her current Real

Estate Flipping Business. Together, we will take the new

venture to the next level. Definitely excited about this.

How that’s for being Unstoppable!

I am not here to toot my horns but to show you a remarkable

demonstration of what is possible when you commit to being

UNSTOPPABLE in spite of….

in person for 2 day every 60 days to access what is working and

what is not working, then create what’s next. TOTALLY AWESOME!

All I have to say is that Tony Robbins is the man. Of course, besides me…lol I had a blast! I even walked on some hot ass fire. The crazy things you do when you are in a state of certainty. I could not believe that I did not burn my feet. Hallelujah! Definitely something you should add to your bucket list.  Another thing to brag about, I guess. On a more important note, I shot a quick video for you in the hallway.

Can you believe some people actually stopped to watch me do this recording. I guess they thought I was some famous celebrity or something. In the video, I shared a few points that really drove the message home for me.

I really didn’t care if people thought I was making a fool of myself. I had your best interest in mind. Enjoy!

Growing up with Spanish speaking parents had its perks as well as its drawbacks. I remember one specific day when I arrived at the school cafeteria. It was a weird feeling looking around and not recognizing anyone. I had just been transferred to this school because Mami chose to move me to a school that was close to the factory where she worked. As I walked to the table where I would sit to eat my lunch I preceded to open my little brown thermo. And then it happened!

I met my first friend. Her name was Stacey. She introduced herself and then began to eat her ham and cheese sandwich. “Do you want some Edward?” she asked. “Nah, I got me some ah-rose with habichuela,” I responded, with my pronunciation sounding weird to her. I did not know how to roll the r’s the way she was accustomed to hearing. “Oh you mean rice and beans,” she replied. “Oh yeah that,” I said. I remember being embarrassed because I always knew it as arroz con habichuelas. Suddenly, being a latino felt weird.

I also never had help from mom and dad when it came time to do my homework. This was another drawback for me. They didn’t know sufficient English to help me. Luckily Charlie, our neighbor who was retired and bored most of the time, came to my rescue. I owe him so much. Every night after dinner I would visit him and he would help me finish my homework. On Saturday mornings after helping Mami with our house chores, I would go and help him with some chores to show my appreciation. Mami always said that you should respect your elders.

Therefore, because he chose to help me and never asked for anything in return, this was the best way I could pay him back. Taking Spanish food to school, helping Mami with chores, asking an elder outside of our family for help with my homework and simply that I was a Latino used to really upset me. Don’t blame me for thinking this way, I was only 10 at the time.

Everything changed when I joined the Marine Corps. In March of 1990 I was sent to the Persian Gulf War. The desert was lonely and I’ll never forget the day I had to wash my own clothes by hand. I did this because many times when we would send the clothes out to be washed, we would get them back three weeks later. When others asked me to help them because they didn’t know how to sew or wash them by hand, I started to realize how valuable all the little things Mami showed me were. I was extremely grateful. I also started to notice how different I was.

I started to realize that their lessons were priceless. Even how I had learned to communicate and respect other people’s opinions were invaluable. Learning their values and principles proved to be immeasurable. They taught me honesty, integrity and a hard work ethic. This turned out to be PRICELESS! I would not be who I am today if it weren’t for my Papi and Mami. Since this month is National Hispanic Heritage Month, I would like to acknowledge all the Mami’s and Papi’s who paid the price in America so that we could be who we are today.

It was fun, challenging and brutal to say the least. I sure felt it when I awoke the next day. Luckily my wife came to the rescue with some good old fashion bengay! lol.. But it was still worth it!

Recently, I went to visit a client in Downtown Manhattan. After I finished my consultation I strolled into one of New York’s most famous parks.  Right in the middle of a crowd, I decided to shoot you a quick video based on the conversation we had. Then out of nowhere a pigeon came out and pooped on my shoulder right in the middle of the shoot. It was too funny.  Check it out!
